Inbound Link Value
Inbound links are an important element in a comprehensive Search Engine Optimisation strategy.
Links from other sites are valuable channels of visitors to your
web site. It is logical that a popular site visited by large volumes of
people has a higher chance of reaching the top of the search engines.
The link popularity of a site is one of the key factors taken into consideration by the search engines when evaluating the popularity of a site. Google place a heavy importance on link popularity when it gives a page rank to
a web page. Having said that a note of caution should also be said. Not
all inbound links to a site will be counted as value adding links.
Links coming in from related websites with good quality
content would be placed at a higher value than links coming in fromm
poor quality websites. A lot of links from a lot of poor quality
websites will raise the possibilities of search engines identifying
your website as a Spam site and penalize you by removing your site.
