myob ecommerce website integration
MYOB
eCommerce website integration is related to the writing of
customised modules that link a client’s website to their MYOB software
package. For example, once a module has been written a simple shopping
cart order may now appear as a sales order within MYOB, thus
reducing the need for the client to re-enter the data manually.
These
customised modules also make both the website
and MYOB work according to the client’s business requirements, and
not the other way around. Prior to MYOB website integration,
clients were changing their business model based on their
website functionality and MYOB
software package. By integrating their website with
MYOB, clients are realising that don’t need to invest in
advanced accounting software packages worth over €20,000, instead they can make
MYOB (a software package everybody loves to use) work for them!
In fact, some expensive accounting software packages still won’t deliver the
client the specialised functionality they were looking for, because even these
packages are designed for a broad range of businesses, not the individual
client.
The cost of upgrading from MYOB to a more
expensive accounting solution is not just financial; it also requires training
for both management and employees. This is why it’s more beneficial to simply
integrate the website with MYOB, because everybody already
knows how to use it.
MYOB has been developed to support
these customised modules through MYOB ODBC (Open Database
Connectivity). Specialist web
developers in Dublin, like Etaxia, are able to access all the
data within MYOB using advanced software development tools. The
developers are then able to create custom screens, databases and forms to meet
any client’s unique business requirements. MYOB ODBC is then
used to send the data back to MYOB so all the client’s data is
stored safely within the original MYOB database file.
